memory.bike collects nothing. There are no accounts, no servers and no analytics. The app makes no network requests at all — not to us, not to anyone. We cannot read, sell or share what we never receive, and we never receive anything.
Who we are
memory.bike is built and run by Anphase Ltd in Aotearoa New Zealand. Questions about this policy go to privacy@memory.bike.
What the app stores on your device
One thing: whether you chose the light or the dark theme. It is saved under the key
mb.theme — in your browser's local storage on the web, and in the operating
system's preference store in the iOS and Android apps.
Nothing else is written anywhere. In this version the topics you can open are built into the app itself, and anything you type while working through one is held in memory for as long as the screen is open and is gone when you leave it. That is a limitation we intend to fix, not a privacy feature, and this page will change when it does. It will still be your device that holds it.
What the app sends
Nothing. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no attribution SDK and no third-party code that phones home. The typefaces are served from the app itself rather than from a font network, so opening memory.bike does not tell anyone — including a font provider — that you opened it.
The apps work with no connection at all. If yours is offline, nothing about memory.bike behaves differently.
Crash diagnostics
We collect none. If the app crashes, Apple or Google may offer you the choice to send a diagnostic report to them under their own terms; we receive no personal data from those systems, and we have not enrolled the app in any crash-reporting service of our own.
Purchases
There are none today. memory.bike has no paid features, no subscription and no in-app purchases, so no payment information passes through it. Should that change, this page will say what the app store tells us — which, for both stores, is a purchase receipt and never your card details.
The website
memory.bike is served as static files from Cloudflare. We run no analytics on it, set no cookies and embed nothing from anyone else. Cloudflare processes the request in order to serve the page, as any host must, under its own privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting your data
We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to keep, hand over or delete. What is on your device is yours and under your control:
- On the web, clearing site data for memory.bike in your browser removes it.
- On iOS and Android, deleting the app removes it.
You do not need to ask us, and there is no account to close. If you would like this confirmed in writing anyway, write to privacy@memory.bike and we will answer.
Your rights
The New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 gives you the right to access and correct personal information an organisation holds about you, and the GDPR and similar laws give comparable rights where they apply. Those rights are intact; they simply have nothing to reach here, because we hold no personal information about you.
Children
memory.bike is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age. It is a tool for working on your own explanations of things, and the explanations stay on your device.
Changes to this policy
If what the app does changes, this page changes with it, and the effective date at the top moves. We will not quietly begin collecting something and leave this text as it was.
